QTO – On the afternoon of September 7th, in Khe Sanh commune, the Organizing Committee for the “Following the Footsteps of 100 Years of Khe Sanh Coffee” activities, chaired by Mr. Le Van Bao, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, conducted a field inspection and reviewed the preparations for the festival in Khe Sanh commune. Leaders from relevant departments, agencies, and localities attended.
The opening ceremony of the “Following in the Footsteps of 100 Years of Khe Sanh Coffee” festival is scheduled to take place at the Van Kieu-Pa Ko Cultural House in Khe Sanh commune at 8 PM on October 24, 2026.
The program was organized in an artistic and political style with the theme: “Khe Sanh Coffee – The Taste of Peace”. Simultaneously, it incorporated the “Khe Sanh Coffee Aroma” ceremony and announced the direction for organizing the annual “Khe Sanh Coffee Aroma” event.
The opening ceremony will be broadcast live and livestreamed on Quang Tri Newspaper and Radio, Television and Digital platforms. The program has also invited newspapers and radio and television stations nationwide to participate in the live broadcast.
As part of the “Following the Footsteps of 100 Years of Khe Sanh Coffee” festival program, the “Farmers’ Talent Competition – Khe Sanh Coffee” will be held at the Ruong Village Community Center. In particular, within the “Timeline of 100 Years of Khe Sanh Coffee” space, visitors can experience the formation and development of Khe Sanh coffee from 1926 to the present day through historical milestones, documentary images, artifacts, and stories about the land, people, production, processing, and brand development of Khe Sanh coffee throughout different periods.
In addition, the workshop “Developing the Specialty Coffee and Agroforestry Coffee Industry” will focus on solutions to improve product quality, connect investments, expand markets, and increase the brand value of Khe Sanh coffee in domestic and international markets.
At the meeting, members of the Organizing Committee for the “Following in the Footsteps of 100 Years of Khe Sanh Coffee” activities reported on the progress of their assigned functions and tasks.
Accordingly, by September 15th, the overall script, detailed script, and artistic program will be finalized; publicity and promotion work will be implemented; and all necessary conditions regarding infrastructure, logistics, reception, security, and other aspects of the program will be completed. By October 15th, all preparations will be finalized; inspections, rehearsals, and a final dress rehearsal of the program will be conducted.
With its 100th anniversary, the festival is an important opportunity to introduce and promote the brand value of Khe Sanh coffee. At the same time, it is crucial to emphasize honoring coffee growers, processors, and traders, showcasing tourism potential, promoting investment, and publicizing the traditional culture of the Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic groups living in the area.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee also assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment as the focal agency to advise, monitor, and supervise the implementation of the plan; coordinate with the People’s Committee of Khe Sanh commune and relevant agencies and units in the preparation and organization of the program; summarize the situation and progress, and promptly report to the Organizing Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee on any arising issues.
